Mariners release Spanish captain Baro
Central Coast are in the hunt for a new A-League captain after releasing Alan Baro to return to Spain.
Despite having a year remaining on his two-year contract, the Mariners announced the 32-year-old defender has agreed to a mutual termination to "pursue other opportunities".
"I feel sad to be leaving," Baro said.
"I have nothing but positive things to say about this club, the coast, the community and all of the fans.
"It was a [http://De.Pons.com/bersetzung?q=difficult%20season&l=deen&in=&lf=en difficult season] and we didn't get the results we deserved, but at the Mariners there are a fantastic group of people at the club who I am confident will take this club forward."
The departure of Baro, who played a season at Melbourne Victory before joining the Mariners, will be covered for in central defence by Jonathan Aspropotamitis, who signed from Western Sydney last month.
It comes less than a week after the release of Dutchman Wout Brama and leaves new coach Mike Mulvey with another thủ tục xin visa hàn spot as he attempts to revive a club that slumped to last season's wooden spoon.
